This week we are pleased to feature Kate MacColl
For decades, Kate MacColl has enjoyed vibrant and multi-faceted career in the music industry. She is a classically trained pianist and award-winning performing songwriter with many recordings to her credit, and has performed in venues from the Orpheum and BC Place to the Commodore Ballroom and the Railway Club and beyond, sharing the stage with the Vancouver Symphony Orchestra and musical artists such as Colin James and Valdy, as well as actor Ryan Gosling’s band, Dead Man’s Bones to name only a few. She has toured in parts of Canada and the United States, and performs frequently in her hometown of Vancouver playing her own material, as well as working as a keyboardist, percussionist and singer with bands in many styles. Her voice and writing style has been compared to artists like Carole King and Michelle Shocked and this talent combined with her experience as a teacher landed her at the Sarah McLachlan School of Music as the senior songwriting instructor from 2009 – 2015. Kate composes for musical theatre and her choral arrangements are distributed internationally by Alfred Music (US) and Cypress (Canada). For more information, visit: www.katemaccoll.com
There is no greater gift to give performers than to simply sit and listen. We encourage a listening environment and thank everyone in advance for helping create a beautiful experience for all.
